Treetops Adventure high ropes course

Majura Pines contains a high ropes course run by Tree Tops Adventures. For bookings and information about the course click the button below which will take you to their website.

Read the FAQs below for information about how the course interacts with the mountain bike trails at Majura.

Have We Lost Any Trails?

The only change to the mountain bike trails is a small diversion to Wombat. Whilst adding this diversion our volunteers took the opportunity to upgrade the trail adding new berms and drainage and a bridge over the creek at the start.

Will Anything Fall on Me When I Cycle Underneath the Course?

Some of the high ropes course passes over Wombat and Radicle, however no spectators are allowed on the trails and participants have to remove everything from their pockets.

Can Mountain Bikers Park in the New Carpark?

The new carpark within the pines is for the use of Treetops Adventures customers only. The gate to access this carpark is closed and locked at the end of each day when the course closes. If you use this carpark your car may well get locked in.

There is plenty of free parking for mountain bikers at the beginner area on Majura Road or on the corner of Lime Kiln Road near Mt Majura Winery. If riding over from the city side there is the small carpark on Mackenzie Street in Hackett, however we suggest you park at the Hackett Shops on Madigan Street where there is much more room, a bike shop (Monkey Wrench Cycles) and several shops and cafes.

Will Cars Be Able to Access all of the Majura Pines?

No. The gate at the winery will be open for Treetops Adventures customers but the only fire road that is accessible is the one parallel to the Majura Parkway that leads straight to the new carpark. They will not be able to access any other areas of the pines. You will not meet stray vehicles on your ride. Nor will you be able to now self shuttle the trails. Sorry.

What Does the High Ropes Course Mean for the Harvesting Schedule?

The Majura Pines is a commercial pine plantation managed by ACT Parks and Conservation Services. The area that now contains the high ropes course has been leased to Treetops Adventures and will not be harvested for the duration of that lease.

Majura Pines Trail Alliance have an excellent relationship with the Parks and Conservation Services forestry department and we have constant conversations with them about managing the trees, particularly with regards to safety after storm events.
