Monday night’s strong winds, combined with saturated ground, has meant a number of trees have come down at Majura. The rangers from ACT Parks and Conservation Service have been out there this week and cleared many trees but some trails are still blocked and there are probably some we haven’t even found yet. Please take extra care; ride as if there is a fallen tree around every corner.
The good news is that Planet Claire has been cleared. This and Larry and Barry are, again, your best options. The link trail up to Touching Cloth etc is open and these trails should be ok but we haven’t had time to check them all. The bottom third of Short Memory is closed.
Rock Lobster saw much of the damage. Please don’t ride. Likewise the nearby Point Brake, Dirty Distancing and Wonder Woman are still blocked – and may remain so for a while.
The XC trails are too wet to ride. There are also trees down on Cannnery Row and Dew Drop Inn. Radicle has been closed with bunting tape as there is a very dangerous leaning tree near the start.
Baby, Mama and Papa Bear should be ok but please don’t go up winery hill. We have not been able to check it for fallen trees and Bombora is wet and muddy.
