The Majura Pines trails are some the oldest and most famous in Canberra. There are currently over 25km of mapped and sign posted trails of all styles, and for all abilities, as well as a pump track and a dirt jump park.
Read on to discover some of the highlights or click the link to download a PDF map of the network. All of our trails can also be found on Trailforks.
Know Flow

Some of the most popular trails at Majura are the flow trails Barry, Planet Claire and Rock Lobster, at the south end of the forest, and Pinot Grinio and Bombora, which are found on “winery hill” at the north. A good way to discover most of these is by following our sign posted Blue Loop.
Old Skool Maj

That said, what Majura is really famous for is trails a little more old fashioned and, dare we say it, harder. Whether it is the XC tech fests of Auto Alley and Space Elevator, or the downhill lines of old, that have been re-born in to great enduro trails like Touching Cloth, Rocksanne and Dirty Distancing (to name just three). If this sounds like your sort of thing then see the Technical XC or the Gravity/Enduro trails pages for more information.
Trails for All

Majura Pines contains trails suitable for riders of all abilities; from beginners all the way through to advanced, with most stops in-between. If you are new to the area – or the sport – a great place to start is the Beginner Area on Majura Road. Here you can warm up on some easy trails or the pump track before proceeding through the underpass to the main network to tackle either our Green or Blue signed loops.
Where to Find Us
The Majura Pines is located in the north-east of Canberra, only a few kilometres from the city centre and easy to access from the Majura Parkway and Federal Highway. The main car park is at the beginner area on Majura Road where there is also a toilet, drinking water and picnic area as well as the pump track and dirt jumps. There is a second parking area at the north of forest on the corner of Lime Kiln Road, near to Mount Majura Vineyard.
If approaching from the city there is a small car park on Mackenzie Street in Hackett or park at the nearby Hackett shops – home of Monkey Wrench Cycles, Hackett IGA and several small cafes/restaurants. From Mackenzie Street enter Mount Majura Nature Reserve and follow the signs up Blue Metal Road, forking left near the top to the Majura Pines notice boards.
Volunteer Built

The Majura Pines trails are built and maintained by volunteers; mountain bikers, just like you, looking after the trails they ride. There are several ways you can get involved.
