Papa Bear Re-Vamp

Well that escalated… When the legend that is Garreth Paton from Iconic trails offered to donate a couple of hours of machine time on Saturday afternoon to beef up Papa Bear we leapt at the chance. A few calls to mates, the crew from Majurassic Park and kindly sponsors later and the job grew a bit…

Garreth concentrated on piling up huge mounds of dirt on Papa Bear; so much so that he came back again for another 4 hours on Sunday morning.

PLEASE NOTE THAT PAPA BEAR IS CLOSED UNTIL THE DIRT HAS PACKED IN AND WE HAVE FINISHED THE TRAIL.

The volunteers with hand tools gave Baby Bear a re-vamp; all the jumps are now a bit longer and more consistent in size.

Then we moved on to a nip and tuck job for Mama Bear fixing a couple of issues with varying sizes and kick on the jumps. We haven’t quite finished with Mama but it is already a much better, more predictable trail.

A massive, massive thanks to Garreth from Iconic, the volunteers who helped out and our sponsors who kept us going Three Mills Bakery, Capital Brewing Co. and Maitland Street Roasters.
