Yesterday saw a big effort from a great group of volunteers to not only finish the newest descent at Majura Pines but also tackle a few long standing drainage issues on a couple of nearby XC trails.
A few rocks were finessed at the top of this trail and the line cleaned up with the trusty leaf blower. Lower down turns were cut in to the almost perfect dirt, with a smattering of technical features thrown in for good measure. We ended the trail by hauling some huge rocks to make two kickers which ensure you will finish the trail with speed and a huge smile on your dial.
A huge thanks to everyone who gave up their Sunday morning ride time to make Majura even greater and to Maitland Street Roasters for the coffee, Three Mills Bakery for the pastries and Capital Brewing Co. the beers.
The new trail is not sign posted yet, but is open to ride. It is called “Short Memory” and branches off the DH trail near the start. Whilst not as committing as nearby trails, such as Touching Cloth, it is stacked with technical challenges and will provide an important progression to these harder trails as well as being a lot of fun in its own right. Enjoy!
